Nicole Farrell, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

If you had asked me years ago what I wanted to be when I grew up, I probably would have said a psychotherapist. It was something I felt drawn to for a long time, but life had other plans first. I spent years building a career, navigating relationships, experiencing loss, and figuring out who I was before eventually finding my way back to this work. Looking back, I don't think I could have become the therapist I am today without living a little first (and life certainly gave me plenty of opportunities to do that!). 

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I worked in the nonprofit sector for many years before moving into a leadership role in a larger organization. Those experiences taught me a great deal about people, workplace relationships, burnout, identity, leadership, and how much our personal lives inevitably follow us into our professional ones. 

I graduated from the Ontario Psychotherapy and Counselling College (OPCC) in 2026 and have been working with clients since 2024. I like combining practical tools with deeper exploration because I believe both have an important place in therapy. Sometimes we need strategies that help us get through today, and sometimes we need to understand why we've been carrying certain patterns for years.

I also know what it's like to sit on the other side of the therapy room. Personal therapy has helped me navigate anxiety, parental loss, relationship endings, family conflict, workplace challenges, and the many identity shifts that come with moving through adulthood. Those experiences haven't made me an expert on your life, but they have given me a deep appreciation for how vulnerable it can feel to ask for help. It is meaningful to have someone walk alongside you while you figure things out.
